Unwanted hair - Laser a Good Solution

Unwanted hair is a big problem for women more particularly for unmarried girls. Growth of hair on upper lips, chin and cheeks irritates them and lowers their confidence level.

Causes
There are many causes for unwanted hair. They are
1) Hormonal imbalance
2) PCOD
3) Intake of some drugs
4) Menopause stage etc.

Treatment:
In treating the problem of unwanted hair, a thorough medical examination is the right approach. Diagnostic tests may include, testosterone level check and other hormonal levels. Once the root cause if found it is easy to find a right path of treatment. However the hair already appeared may not disappear with medication. So, one should choose additional techniques for hair removal. Of course, there are many methods followed by the modern women. They are creams, waxing, threading, shaving, and electrolysis and laser treatment. Out of all these, laser is a modern and good solution for the problem of unwanted hair.

Laser
Laser means "Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation". In this technique, powerful Laser rays are used to treat the problem.
This technique is in vogue for the past decade and is applied in various fields such as eye, skin, dental surgery etc.

Use of Laser in removing unwanted hair is permitted by FDA of America in 1996. In recent times, many advances took place in the field of Laser technology and various kinds of Lasers are available for different applications.

How Laser Works
All of us know that if we stand in sunlight with a white shirt, it will not become hot but a black shirt absorbs heat and becomes hot then transfers heat to our body.
This is the principle in Laser technique.

Coming to hair, it is dark in color (except in aged people). This color is due to a chemical substance called "melanin", which is present in the hair and its root. When powerful Laser rays are applied Melanin in the hair and more particularly in the root absorbs the heat. Because of this heat the root is damaged resulting in the fall of the hair. However more care should be taken in applying Lasers.

How long the treatment is required?
Generally, 4-5 sittings are required for the fall of unwanted hair with Laser technique. However, 100% removal of unwanted hair is not possible with Laser but at least 70% of the hair removal is possible with this technique.

Caution
Laser treatment should not be taken from pseudo experts. It should be taken in a good clinic under the supervision of a qualified and experienced physician. Otherwise, Laser rays may damage skin by burning, resulting in black spots.

Get rid of unwanted hair with Laser removal and get great looks!

Bone Care for Elderly Women - Osteoporosis

Elderly women should take more care of their bones. One of the main problems for them is Osteoporosis. Literally speaking Osteoporosis means porous bones.
In Osteoporosis bones become porous, weak and thin. They break very easily like a piece of chalk. A simple fall, a lifting action can result in a fracture.
It is estimated that after the age of 50 years, one out of two women sustain fractures due to Osteoporosis in their lifetime.

Causes of Osteoporosis:
Main cause of Osteoporosis is age. After menopause in women, the production of estrogen hormone diminishes resulting in Osteoporosis

Symptoms:
In early stage Osteoporosis causes no symptoms. Hence it is called as a "Silent Disease". But in advanced stages symptoms can be easily noticed. They are persistent back pain, sudden muscle spasm in the back, curving spine, height loss, broken bones, tooth loss, abdominal pain, etc.

Diagnosis:
The best method of detecting Osteoporosis is "Bone Density" test done in a good diagnostic center.

Prevention:
Prevention is better than cure is cent percent true in the case of Osteoporosis. This can be achieved well by taking calcium rich diet regularly. It is estimated that post menopause women need 1000mg of calcium per day. Again only calcium cannot be absorbed without Vitamin D. Hence vitamin D Should be taken along with calcium and the recommended dose is 400 IU per day.

Main food sources of calcium
1. Milk and Milk products such as cheese, yogurt etc contain good quantity of calcium,
2. Other sources are canned fish with edible bones such as salmon and sardines
3. Dark green leafy vegetables such as Kale and broccoli
4. Orange juice and calcium rich bread etc.

Good Food sources of Vitamin D
Vitamin D is essential for calcium absorption. Good sources of Vitamin D are butter cream, fish oils, liver and egg yoke.

Supplements:
If you do not get enough calcium in food, the same may be added in the form of tablets from medical store. However it is highly recommended that one should take doctors advise before approaching a medical store.
